edrawings-viewer-2019 has passed automated validation. It may have or may still fail other checks like testing (verification).
NOTE: No required changes that the validator checks have been flagged! It is appreciated if you fix other items, but only Requirements will hold up a package version from approval. A human review could still turn up issues a computer may not easily find.

Guidelines

Guidelines are strong suggestions that improve the quality of a package version. These are considered something to fix for next time to increase the quality of the package. Over time Guidelines can become Requirements. A package version can be approved without addressing Guideline comments but will reduce the quality of the package.

edrawings-viewer-2019 has failed automated testing.
This is not the only check that is performed so check the package page to ensure a 'Ready' status.
Please visit https://gist.github.com/1b595cc41d3e5150be3c480ae14f0d06 for details.
The package status will be changed and will be waiting on your next actions.

  • NEW! We have a test environment for you to replicate the testing we do. This can be used at any time to test packages! See https://github.com/chocolatey/chocolatey-test-environment
  • Please log in and leave a review comment if you have questions and/or comments.
  • If you see the verifier needs to rerun testing against the package without resubmitting (a issue in the test results), you can do that on the package page in the review section.
  • If the verifier is incompatible with the package, please log in and leave a review comment if the package needs to bypass testing (e.g. package installs specific drivers).
  • Automated testing can also fail when a package is not completely silent or has pop ups (AutoHotKey can assist - a great example is the VeraCrypt package).
  • A package that cannot be made completely unattended should have the notSilent tag. Note that this must be approved by moderators.

basictheprogram (maintainer) on 14 Nov 2019 20:56:55 +00:00:

The package has a dependency on edrawings-viewer >= 28.00 and that has a dependency on donet4.6.2 which requires a reboot after installation.

Got I get an exemption on this package?

If you are deprecating this package then it should have no dependencies. Can you please take a look at ]How To Deprecate A Chocolatey Package](https://chocolatey.org/docs/How-To-Deprecate-A-Chocolatey-Package) and follow the instructions?

Thanks.

basictheprogram (maintainer) on 15 Nov 2019 16:38:21 +00:00:

I did follow those instructions and one of the directives says to Add a dependency on the other package (if the package is being superseded).

Pauby (reviewer) on 19 Nov 2019 15:59:27 +00:00:

My apologies. It clearly had been a long day.

The package is named edrawings-viewer-2019 but installs version 2020? I would expect it would install the latest 2019 version and nothing else?

basictheprogram (maintainer) on 19 Nov 2019 18:21:35 +00:00:

Community did not like the version numbers appended to the package name and I received several private message asking why the change was made. I wish to go back to just the edrawings-viewer (no extension). On top of that support told me when the next version of altium-designer is released the previous version is no longer maintained. Your license(s) will continue to work on the older version but no bug fixes, patches, etc. In theory, everyone should move to the latest version :-) or pin their current version.

Pauby (reviewer) on 20 Nov 2019 13:29:51 +00:00:

So you're looking for all the edrawings-viewer packages (including the 2018 one) to simply install the latest version? That doesn't make a lot of sense given the names of the packages - if users always want to stay up to date then they can simply install the edrawings-viewer package?

The name of this package says '2019' versions only. The name of the '2018' package says '2018' versions only. Having a package with a year / version number on it is not unusual.

I'm not trying to be picky, I'm trying to understand why there is no other option open but this and how users will be affected by it (current and future). I'm happy to chat via Gitter - DM pauby.

chocolatey-ops (reviewer) on 10 Dec 2019 13:30:46 +00:00:

We've found edrawings-viewer-2019 v27.4.0.0023 in a submitted status and waiting for your next actions. It has had no updates for 20 or more days since a reviewer has asked for corrections. Please note that if there is no response or fix of the package within 15 days of this message, this package version will automatically be closed (rejected) due to being stale.

Take action:

  • Log in to the site and respond to the review comments.
  • Resubmit fixes for this version.
  • If the package version is failing automated checks, you can self-reject the package.

If your package is failing automated testing, you can use the chocolatey test environment to manually run the verification and determine what may need to be fixed.

Note: We don't like to see packages automatically rejected. It doesn't mean that we don't value your contributions, just that we can not continue to hold packages versions in a waiting status that have possibly been abandoned. If you don't believe you will be able to fix up this version of the package within 15 days, we strongly urge you to log in to the site and respond to the review comments until you are able to.

chocolatey-ops (reviewer) on 25 Dec 2019 13:38:43 +00:00:

Unfortunately there has not been progress to move edrawings-viewer-2019 v27.4.0.0023 towards an approved status within 15 days after the last review message, so we need to close (reject) the package version at this time. If you want to pick this version up and move it towards approval in the future, use the contact site admins link on the package page and we can move it back into a submitted status so you can submit updates.

Status Change - Changed status of package from 'submitted' to 'rejected'.
