The Office 2016 Deployment Tool allows the administrator to customize and manage Office 2016 Click-to-Run deployments. This tool will help adminstrators to manage installations sources, product/language combinations, and deployment configuration options for Office Click-to-Run.

Arguments can be passed to the package using:

-packageParameters= "args"

Current options are:

  • /64bit to install Office 365 ProPlus 64-bit, otherwise it will default to 32-bit.
  • /Shared to install with Shared Computer Licensing for Remote Desktop Services.
  • /LogPath:'C:\Path\to\log\' to specify a log location. Defaults to %PATH% if not defined.

Example 1

choco install office365-2016-deployment-tool

This will install Office365 2016 32-bit for a single user. Logs will be in %PATH%.

Example 2

choco install office365-2016-deployment-tool -packageParameters "/64bit /Shared /LogPath:'C:\logs\'"

This will install Office365 2016 64-bit for a Remote Desktop Server and log the output to C:\logs.

To install Office365 2016 Deployment Tool, run the following command from the command line or from PowerShell:

To upgrade Office365 2016 Deployment Tool, run the following command from the command line or from PowerShell:
