openshift-cli4 has passed automated validation. It may have or may still fail other checks like testing (verification).
NOTE: No required changes that the validator checks have been flagged! It is appreciated if you fix other items, but only Requirements will hold up a package version from approval. A human review could still turn up issues a computer may not easily find.

Guidelines

Guidelines are strong suggestions that improve the quality of a package version. These are considered something to fix for next time to increase the quality of the package. Over time Guidelines can become Requirements. A package version can be approved without addressing Guideline comments but will reduce the quality of the package.

openshift-cli4 has passed automated testing.
This is not the only check that is performed so check the package page to ensure a 'Ready' status.
Please visit https://gist.github.com/952eed1150789efb8cc718e24a68c231 for details.
This is an FYI only. There is no action you need to take.

Should this just be a new version of https://chocolatey.org/packages/openshift-cli or is there a reason for a separate package?

David

chillum (maintainer) on 30 Dec 2020 12:25:51 +00:00:

well, the only reason I created this package is that openshift-cli is abandoned by maintainer two years ago and stuck on v3.

I agree that this should be a new version of openshift-cli, not a separate package.

gep13 (reviewer) on 30 Dec 2020 21:13:22 +00:00:

Rather than duplicate a package, can I ask that you create an issue on this repository:

https://github.com/chocolatey-community/chocolatey-coreteampackages/issues

about this application, and work to create a new release on the existing package?

If you agree, we can go ahead and reject this package.

Thanks

chillum (maintainer) on 31 Dec 2020 13:13:53 +00:00:

agreed, please reject the package. thanks

gep13 (reviewer) on 31 Dec 2020 19:20:34 +00:00:

Rejecting as per maintainer request. based on agreement to work on updating current package.
Status Change - Changed status of package from 'submitted' to 'rejected'.

Description

It is built on top of kubectl which means it provides its full capabilities to connect with any kubernetes compliant cluster, and on top adds commands simplifying interaction with an OpenShift cluster.

In cases where actual malware is found, the packages are subject to removal. Software sometimes has false positives. Moderators do not necessarily validate the safety of the underlying software, only that a package retrieves software from the official distribution point and/or validate embedded software against official distribution point (where distribution rights allow redistribution).

Chocolatey Pro provides runtime protection from possible malware.
