RD Tabs is the original advanced multi-tabbed Windows Remote Desktop client and connection manager. It started back in 2006 with a simple idea: bring the then new idea of tabbed web browsers to remote desktop. From there, a way to remember saved session properties that was superior to a bunch of .rdp files was added (favorites), including the ability to batch edit multiple favorites at a time, making management of stored passwords simple. But why stop there? Features allowing split-screen, multiple Windows, scaled desktop sizes were added. Now in present day more advanced features are coming fast. From an integrated PowerShell scripting engine, to colored tabs for organization, RD Tabs makes a System Administrator’s life so much easier.

To install RD Tabs, run the following command from the command line or from PowerShell:

C:\> choco install rdtabs

To upgrade RD Tabs, run the following command from the command line or from PowerShell:

C:\> choco upgrade rdtabs

Virus Scan Results

In cases where actual malware is found, the packages are subject to removal. Software sometimes has false positives. Moderators do not necessarily validate the safety of the underlying software, only that a package retrieves software from the official distribution point and/or validate embedded software against official distribution point (where distribution rights allow redistribution).

Chocolatey Pro provides runtime protection from possible malware.

Release Notes

- Fixed bug: If you set a custom resolution larger than 1600x1200 in the Default Connection Properties, the first tab opened after launch would be restricted to a maximum of 1600x1200.
- Added missing disconnection code 50331698.
- Added dates of the loaded restore file to the notification of restoring a configuration from automatic backup. This will help you determine how much data you may lose in this event.

- Fixed bug: RD Tabs prevented importing favorites from exports created in 2.1.x. It should have let it go through with only a warning and not a hard block.

- Fixed bug: an arithmetic overflow was possible under certain conditions when closing a tab.
- Fixed bug: various DPI display issues when running in native high DPI mode on a system with a high DPI display.

- Fixed bug: when reconnecting after network interruption, sometimes the connecting spinner animation would not stop after the connection was reestablished.
- Added additional diagnostic information to crash error reports and included a short walkthrough message on how to repair a corrupt installation when it's detected in certain scenarios that have been reported by at least two users upgrading from 2.x RD Tabs.
