StyleCop analyzes C# source code to enforce a set of style and consistency rules. It can be run from inside of Visual Studio or integrated into an MSBuild project. StyleCop has also been integrated into many third-party development tools.

The package installs the standalone StyleCop binaries, an extension for Visual Studio 2008-2013 and an extension for ReSharper 8.2 or earlier.

This version is now compatible with R# 5.1 (5.1.3000.12), R# 6.0 (6.0.2202.688), R# 6.1 (, R# 6.1.1 (6.1.1000.82), R# 7.0.1 (7.0.1098.2760), R# 7.1.1 (7.1.3000.2254) and R# 8.2 (

Install order should be:

To install StyleCop, run the following command from the command line or from PowerShell:

C:\> choco install stylecop --version

To upgrade StyleCop, run the following command from the command line or from PowerShell:

       StyleCop project content from CodePlex.
    2. From the downloaded archive, extract the "releases" subdirectory.
