Vale is an open source linter for prose—no matter if it’s plain text, markup or source-code comments. It’s built around a plugin system that allows it to lint against arbitrary rules. In practice, this means that it can help you adhere to entire editorial style guides or simply break writer-specific bad habits.

To install Vale, run the following command from the command line or from PowerShell:

C:\> choco install vale

To upgrade Vale, run the following command from the command line or from PowerShell:

C:\> choco upgrade vale

Virus Scan Results

In cases where actual malware is found, the packages are subject to removal. Software sometimes has false positives. Moderators do not necessarily validate the safety of the underlying software, only that a package retrieves software from the official distribution point and/or validate embedded software against official distribution point (where distribution rights allow redistribution).

Chocolatey Pro provides runtime protection from possible malware.
