vlmcsd has passed automated validation. It may have or may still fail other checks like testing (verification).
NOTE: No required changes that the validator checks have been flagged! It is appreciated if you fix other items, but only Requirements will hold up a package version from approval. A human review could still turn up issues a computer may not easily find.

Guidelines

Guidelines are strong suggestions that improve the quality of a package version. These are considered something to fix for next time to increase the quality of the package. Over time Guidelines can become Requirements. A package version can be approved without addressing Guideline comments but will reduce the quality of the package.

Can you help explain the high number of virus detections in one of the downloaded files? Is that expected?

Description

vlmcsd is a fully Microsoft compatible KMS server that provides product activation services to clients. It is meant as a drop-in replacement for a Microsoft KMS server (Windows computer with KMS key entered). It currently supports KMS protocol versions 4, 5 and 6.

Although vlmcsd does neither require an activation key nor a payment to anyone, it is not meant to run illegal copies of software (Windows, Office, Project, Visio). Its purpose is to ensure that owners of legal copies can use their software without restrictions, e.g. if you buy a new computer or motherboard and your key will be refused activation from Microsoft servers due to hardware changes.

It runs on Linux including Android, GNU/Hurd, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, NetBSD, DragonflyBSD, Solaris, Open Indiana, Dyson, Minix, Darwin, macOS, iOS, WSL, Wine and Windows (x86 and x64) with or without Cygwin.

In cases where actual malware is found, the packages are subject to removal. Software sometimes has false positives. Moderators do not necessarily validate the safety of the underlying software, only that a package retrieves software from the official distribution point and/or validate embedded software against official distribution point (where distribution rights allow redistribution).

Chocolatey Pro provides runtime protection from possible malware.
