vmware-horizon-client has passed automated validation. It may have or may still fail other checks like testing (verification).
NOTE: No required changes that the validator checks have been flagged! It is appreciated if you fix other items, but only Requirements will hold up a package version from approval. A human review could still turn up issues a computer may not easily find.

Guidelines

Guidelines are strong suggestions that improve the quality of a package version. These are considered something to fix for next time to increase the quality of the package. Over time Guidelines can become Requirements. A package version can be approved without addressing Guideline comments but will reduce the quality of the package.

  • Package contains dependencies with no specified version. You should at least specify a minimum version of a dependency. More...

chocolatey-ops (reviewer) on 17 Sep 2018 14:08:47 +00:00:

vmware-horizon-client has failed automated testing.
This is not the only check that is performed so check the package page to ensure a 'Ready' status.
Please visit https://gist.github.com/b025b4b1f1f98b74170a20e6a98ebde6 for details.
The package status will be changed and will be waiting on your next actions.

  • NEW! We have a test environment for you to replicate the testing we do. This can be used at any time to test packages! See https://github.com/chocolatey/chocolatey-test-environment
  • Please log in and leave a review comment if you have questions and/or comments.
  • If you see the verifier needs to rerun testing against the package without resubmitting (a issue in the test results), you can do that on the package page in the review section.
  • If the verifier is incompatible with the package, please log in and leave a review comment if the package needs to bypass testing (e.g. package installs specific drivers).
  • Automated testing can also fail when a package is not completely silent or has pop ups (AutoHotKey can assist - a great example is the VeraCrypt package).
  • A package that cannot be made completely unattended should have the notSilent tag. Note that this must be approved by moderators.

chocolatey-ops (reviewer) on 21 Dec 2018 11:40:58 +00:00:

We've found vmware-horizon-client v4.9.0 in a submitted status and waiting for your next actions. It has had no updates for 20 or more days since a reviewer has asked for corrections. Please note that if there is no response or fix of the package within 15 days of this message, this package version will automatically be closed (rejected) due to being stale.

Take action:

  • Log in to the site and respond to the review comments.
  • Resubmit fixes for this version.
  • If the package version is failing automated checks, you can self-reject the package.

If your package is failing automated testing, you can use the chocolatey test environment to manually run the verification and determine what may need to be fixed.

Note: We don't like to see packages automatically rejected. It doesn't mean that we don't value your contributions, just that we can not continue to hold packages versions in a waiting status that have possibly been abandoned. If you don't believe you will be able to fix up this version of the package within 15 days, we strongly urge you to log in to the site and respond to the review comments until you are able to.

chocolatey-ops (reviewer) on 05 Jan 2019 11:45:30 +00:00:

Unfortunately there has not been progress to move vmware-horizon-client v4.9.0 towards an approved status within 15 days after the last review message, so we need to close (reject) the package version at this time. If you want to pick this version up and move it towards approval in the future, use the contact site admins link on the package page and we can move it back into a submitted status so you can submit updates.

Status Change - Changed status of package from 'submitted' to 'rejected'.

In cases where actual malware is found, the packages are subject to removal. Software sometimes has false positives. Moderators do not necessarily validate the safety of the underlying software, only that a package retrieves software from the official distribution point and/or validate embedded software against official distribution point (where distribution rights allow redistribution).

Chocolatey Pro provides runtime protection from possible malware.

The 4.9.0 release of Horizon Client for Windows contains the following new features:

* Logging copy and paste activity
You can enable the clipboard audit feature in Horizon Client to record information about clipboard data that is copied from the Horizon Agent machine to the Windows client machine. This feature requires Horizon Agent 7.6.
Configuring display scaling for all remote desktops and published applications
You can configure the VMware Horizon Client Configuration Allow display scaling group policy setting to enable or disable display scaling for all remote desktops and published applications.
* Configuring a keyboard shortcut to switch display settings
You can configure the VMware Horizon Client Configuration Display modifier function key group policy setting to specify a switch modifier and function key combination that a user can press that, when grabbed and injecting input into a PCoIP or VMware Blast remote desktop session, changes the display configuration on the client machine. When this policy is not set, you must ungrab by using the mouse, or by pressing Ctrl+Alt, and then press Windows+P to change the display configuration.
* Starting Horizon Client in minimized mode
You can use the vmware-view.exe -launchMinimized command line option to start Horizon Client in minimized mode. You can also start Horizon Client in minimized mode from a URI by specifying the launchMinimized=true query.
* RDS host per-device CAL licensing improvements in a Cloud Pod Architecture environment
In a Cloud Pod Architecture environment with Horizon Client 4.9 and Horizon 7 version 7.6, if the Windows client device has an RDS per-device CAL, it always presents that license. Windows clients that have earlier Horizon Client versions present a license only if they have a license for the specific pod. For more information, see the Setting Up Published Desktops and Applications in Horizon 7 document. VMware recommends upgrading to the latest client and server software for the best handling of RDS licensing in a Cloud Pod Architecture environment.
* Configuring Horizon Client data sharing
If your Horizon administrator has opted to participate in the customer experience improvement program, VMware collects and receives anonymous data on client systems to prioritize hardware and software compatibility. You can configure whether to share information about your client system by enabling or disabling a setting in Horizon Client.
* Redirecting serial ports for published desktops and applications
Users can now redirect locally connected serial (COM) ports, such as built-in RS232 ports or USB to Serial adapters, from the Windows client device to published desktops and published applications.
* Client drive redirection improvements
Drives that are redirected with the client drive redirection feature now appear only under Network Locations in the remote desktop. Previously, redirected drives appeared under both Network Locations and Devices and Drives on the remote desktop.
* Installing the 32-bit Skype for Business plugin on a 64-bit Windows operating system
You can now install the 32-bit Skype for Business plugin on a client system that has a 64-bit Windows operating system.
* Redirecting geolocation information to remote desktops and published applications
When a Horizon administrator configures the Geolocation Redirection feature on the Horizon Agent machine, remote desktops and published applications can use the Windows client device's geolocation information. For more information, see the Configuring Remote Desktop Features in Horizon 7 document. This feature requires Horizon Agent 7.6.
* HTML5 Multimedia Redirection improvements
Live streaming is now supported with the HTML5 Multimedia Redirection feature. This feature requires Horizon Agent 7.6.
