The Android SDK provides you the API libraries and developer tools necessary to build, test, and debug apps for Android if you do not want to use Android Studio. It is suggested that you use Android Studio to manager the SDK versions installed.

## Post Install Steps

The Android SDK install only installs the tools and platform tools. It does not install an API SDK version. You will need to run the sdkmanager. Then select the build tools and API that you want to install.

To install Android SDK, run the following command from the command line or from PowerShell:

C:\> choco install android-sdk

To upgrade Android SDK, run the following command from the command line or from PowerShell:

C:\> choco upgrade android-sdk

Virus Scan Results

In cases where actual malware is found, the packages are subject to removal. Software sometimes has false positives. Moderators do not necessarily validate the safety of the underlying software, only that a package retrieves software from the official distribution point and/or validate embedded software against official distribution point (where distribution rights allow redistribution).

Chocolatey Pro provides runtime protection from possible malware.
