Details

This version is in moderation and has not yet been approved. This means it doesn't show up under normal search.

  • Until approved, you should consider this package version unsafe - it could do very bad things to your system (it probably doesn't but you have been warned, that's why we have moderation).
  • This package version can change wildly over the course of moderation until it is approved. If you install it and it later has changes to this version, you will be out of sync with any changes that have been made to the package. Until approved, you should consider that this package version doesn't even exist.
  • You cannot install this package under normal scenarios. See How to install package version under moderation for more information.
  • There are also no guarantees that it will be approved.

There are versions of this package awaiting moderation (possibly just this one). See the Version History section below.

andy has passed automated validation. It may have or may still fail other checks like testing (verification).
NOTE: No required changes that the validator checks have been flagged! It is appreciated if you fix other items, but only Requirements will hold up a package version from approval. A human review could still turn up issues a computer may not easily find.

Guidelines

Guidelines are strong suggestions that improve the quality of a package version. These are considered something to fix for next time to increase the quality of the package. Over time Guidelines can become Requirements. A package version can be approved without addressing Guideline comments but will reduce the quality of the package.

  • Package contains dependencies with no specified version. You should at least specify a minimum version of a dependency. More...
Suggestions

Suggestions are either newly introduced items that will later become Guidelines or items that are don't carry enough weight to become a Guideline. Either way they should be considered. A package version can be approved without addressing Suggestion comments.

  • The nuspec has been enhanced to allow more information related to the software. More... Please consider adding one or more of the following to the nuspec, if available:
    • docsUrl - points to the location of the wiki or docs of the software
    • mailingListUrl - points to the forum or email list group for the software
    • bugTrackerUrl - points to the location where issues and tickets can be accessed

andy has failed automated testing.
This is not the only check that is performed so check the package page to ensure a 'Ready' status.
Please visit https://gist.github.com/13c8e8b8f858c91186cc4c24944fb9d2 for details.
The package status will be changed and will be waiting on your next actions.

  • NEW! We have a test environment for you to replicate the testing we do. This can be used at any time to test packages! See https://github.com/chocolatey/chocolatey-test-environment
  • Please log in and leave a review comment if you have questions and/or comments.
  • If you see the verifier needs to rerun testing against the package without resubmitting (a issue in the test results), you can do that on the package page in the review section.
  • If the verifier is incompatible with the package, please log in and leave a review comment if the package needs to bypass testing (e.g. package installs specific drivers).
  • Automated testing can also fail when a package is not completely silent or has pop ups (AutoHotKey can assist - a great example is the VeraCrypt package).
  • A package that cannot be made completely unattended should have the notSilent tag. Note that this must be approved by moderators.

Notes typically flag things for both you and the reviewer to go over. Sometimes this is the use of things that may or may not be necessary given the constraints of what you are trying to do and/or are harder for automation to flag for other reasons. Items found in Notes might be Requirements depending on the context. A package version can be approved without addressing Note comments.

When replying to comments, can you please provide a little but more information than you have here? This comment by itself doesn't help a moderator to understand what the problem is. Please provide more details.

Thanks

The problem i have here is that the installer of andy isn't silent, and i'm not able to use AHK with it.
The installer seems not providing a name on the button and the window size depend on the screen.

gep13 (reviewer) on 01 Sep 2020 07:12:32 +00:00:

It might be worth reaching out on the Gitter channel to see if anyone can provide some support around getting AHK to work. I am not very familiar with it, but it could be that some folks know some tricks that can be used to get it working.

Tested on my test-envoronment and thanks to bcurran3 it's working.
But requires a reboot

Do we know for certain that the previous malware is no longer contained within this application:

https://www.reddit.com/r/emulators/comments/8rj8g5/warning_andy_android_emulator_andyos_andyroid/

Do you have a reference that we can review?

Ho, I wasn't aware of it.
Thank you for the information, i'll take a look into it.

I will leave this package with you, let me know if/when you find out anything.

Description

Andy

Andy is an Android emulator that breaks down the barrier between desktop and mobile computing.
By using virtualization features present in modern CPUs and leveraging the Virtualbox
command-line interface, Andy creates virtual environments to run Android apps.

  • Provides seamless sync between desktop and mobile devices
  • Connects Win/Mac with Android apps for launching, push notifications and storage
  • Enables app download from any desktop browser direct to Andy OS
  • Ensures most up to date Android OS at all times
  • Brings your favorite communication and entertainment mobile apps to the desktop
  • Remote control: use your android device as control interface and view output on desktop.
With phone as a joystick, you will never have to sacrifice the multi-touch or gyro
elements of gaming, and thanks to seamless connection between desktop and mobile, you
can receive a SnapChat phone picture on the street and see it on your desktop at home.

Minimum requirements

  • System hardware virtualization support:
    • CPU virtualization support (AMD AMD-V, Intel VT-x, or VIA VT)
    • Motherboard enabled (configured within BIOS/UEFI)
  • 3GB RAM
  • Up to 20GB free disk space
  • OpenGL ES 2.0 capable video card

In cases where actual malware is found, the packages are subject to removal. Software sometimes has false positives. Moderators do not necessarily validate the safety of the underlying software, only that a package retrieves software from the official distribution point and/or validate embedded software against official distribution point (where distribution rights allow redistribution).

Chocolatey Pro provides runtime protection from possible malware.
