Set Volume ID of FAT or NTFS drives.

While Windows NT/2000 and Windows 95 and 98's built-in Label utility lets you change the labels of disk volumes, it does not provide any means for changing volume ids. This utiltity, VolumeID, allows you to change the ids of FAT and NTFS disks (floppies or hard drives).

To install VolumeId, run the following command from the command line or from PowerShell:

C:\> choco install volumeid

To upgrade VolumeId, run the following command from the command line or from PowerShell:

C:\> choco upgrade volumeid

Virus Scan Results

In cases where actual malware is found, the packages are subject to removal. Software sometimes has false positives. Moderators do not necessarily validate the safety of the underlying software, only that a package retrieves software from the official distribution point and/or validate embedded software against official distribution point (where distribution rights allow redistribution).

Chocolatey Pro provides runtime protection from possible malware.
