NOTE: This applies to both open source and commercial editions of Chocolatey.

1. Ensure you are set for organizational deployment

Please see the organizational deployment guide

  • Open Source or Commercial:
    • Proxy Repository - Create a proxy nuget repository on Nexus, Artifactory Pro, or a proxy Chocolatey repository on ProGet. Point your upstream to https://chocolatey.org/api/v2. Packages cache on first access automatically. Make sure your choco clients are using your proxy repository as a source and NOT the default community repository. See source command for more information.
    • You can also just download the package and push it to a repository Download

3. Enter your internal repository url

(this should look similar to https://chocolatey.org/api/v2)

4. Choose your deployment method:

choco upgrade calibre -y --source="'STEP 3 URL'" [other options]

See options you can pass to upgrade.

See best practices for scripting.

Add this to a PowerShell script or use a Batch script with tools and in places where you are calling directly to Chocolatey. If you are integrating, keep in mind enhanced exit codes.

If you do use a PowerShell script, use the following to ensure bad exit codes are shown as failures:

choco upgrade calibre -y --source="'STEP 3 URL'"
$exitCode = $LASTEXITCODE

Write-Verbose "Exit code was $exitCode"
$validExitCodes = @(0, 1605, 1614, 1641, 3010)
if ($validExitCodes -contains $exitCode) {
  Exit 0
}

Exit $exitCode

Description

calibre is a free and open source e-book library management application developed by users of e-books for users of e-books.

In cases where actual malware is found, the packages are subject to removal. Software sometimes has false positives. Moderators do not necessarily validate the safety of the underlying software, only that a package retrieves software from the official distribution point and/or validate embedded software against official distribution point (where distribution rights allow redistribution).

Chocolatey Pro provides runtime protection from possible malware.

  • New: Conversion: Add support for the CSS3 rem font size unit
    • New: MTP devices, such as Android tablets/phones: Allow ignoring any folder on the device, not just top level folders. For newly connected devices, also scan /Android/data/com.amazon.kindle for books by default (newer versions of the Kindle app place downloaded files there).
    • New: Speed up sorting when the book list is showing a restricted set of books, such as when the results of a search are displayed or a virtual library is used.
    • New: Edit metadata dialog: Add an undo option for the Trim cover button.
    • Fixed: Amazon metadata download: Update to handle website changes at amazon.com
    • Fixed: PDF Output: Workaround a bug in the library calibre uses to render HTML to PDF that caused text in some documents that used small-caps fonts to not render correctly.
    • Fixed: Kobo driver: When a sideloaded kepub is added from a Kobo device to the calibre library, it is added as an epub, but the file copied is corrupt.
    • Fixed: Fix changing the user interface language in the welcome wizard causing some parts of the interface to remain in the old language until calibre is restarted.
    • Fixed: Fix regression in 1.0 that broke setting author names with the | character in them.
    • Fixed: Content server: When running from inside the main calibre program, do not restrict the books shown based on the current virtual library in the main program. If you wish to restrict the books shown in the content server, use Preferences -- Sharing over the net.
    • Fixed: Output dates in the local timezone instead of UTC when generating CSV catalogs
    • Fixed: Library maintenance: When doing a check library instead of dumping the database to SQL and restoring it, run a VACUUM. This works around various bugs in the dump and restore capabilities of apsw.
    • Fixed: Edit metadata dialog: Fix adding an image to an empty comments block not working
    • Fixed: Conversion: Fix font declarations with invalid font-family values causing conversion to abort when subsetting is enabled.
    • Fixed: MOBI Output: Fix conversion of some super/sub scripts failling if they are the first or last element in a paragraph.
    • Fixed: New database backend: Various improvements to make the backend more robust against databases with invalid/corrupt data in them.
    • Improved News Source: Countryfile
